Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is another form of CBT, however, it does not teach people to change their thinking and behaviour. It teaches them to notice and accept both pleasant and unpleasant thoughts and feelings that they normally would have tried to avoid. By doing so, overthinking (unhelpful inner dialogue) can be limited, allowing them to choose ways to respond to situations that is consistent with their values and put those choices into action.
